Mysuru, May 19, 2024: avant BKG Hospitals announced the successful completion of a Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Programme, held on May 18th&19th, 2024. The event, organized in collaboration with Karnataka State Chapter AGOI (Association of gynaec oncologists of India), KIDWAI Memorial institute of Oncology, Bangalore, Spoorthi foundation (ladies wing of Builder’s association of India, Mysore), and Poorna Sudha Cancer Foundation, Bangalore, aimed to raise awareness about breast and cervical cancers, two of the most prevalent cancers affecting women, and to provide screening services to the community. The two-day event was organised at avant BKG Hospitals, located on Ring Road, Bogadi, Mysuru.
During the camp, more than 100 women from the Spoorthi foundation underwent screening for breast and cervical cancers. The screenings included mammograms for breast cancer detection and pap smear test for cervical cancer screening. The event saw enthusiastic participation from women of all age groups starting from 28 yrs upto 75 yrs, demonstrating the community’s commitment to prioritizing their health and well-being.
Smt. Gayathri K.M., I.A.S., CEO, Zilla Panchayat, Mysuru and the Chief Guest for the event, expressed her support, stating, “This initiative by avant BKG Hospitals and its partners is a commendable effort towards enhancing women’s health in our community. President – Elect KSC-AGOI and Breast Cancer Awareness by Mrs. Pratima Shankar, Poorna Sudha Cancer Foundation.
